Ballantyne

About the Ballantyne Neighborhood

Located near the South Carolina border, Ballantyne is a community of tranquil neighborhoods, mid-rise office buildings, and amazing restaurants, shopping and recreation just south of the I-485 loop surrounding Charlotte. It is best known for its namesake luxury hotel, country club and corporate park. The region was originally a hunting area owned by the Harris family, who have deep ties to the state’s past. The family are descended from Cameron Morrison, who served as governor from 1921 to 1925.

In 1992, Morrison’s grandson Johnny Harris and his brother-in-law Smoky Bissell started Ballantyne Corporate Park, whose current corporate clients include Wells Fargo Advisors, Siemens and Campbell Snacks. The Bowl is Ballantyne’s newest destination for dining, shopping and entertainment and nearby, The Amp hosts large-scale concerts, festivals and markets throughout the year. Our Ballantyne Charlotte apartments’ location creates a short and enjoyable commute to work – and play – at the park. Wingate University’s Ballantyne campus also conveniently allows the region’s working professionals to advance their careers through a variety of studies, including an evening MBA program.
